|Covet: A Novel of the Fallen Angels|
The Fallen Angles series - #1
Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about - his specialty is revenge and, to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charged with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin Di Pietro long ago gave himself up to his business - until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking, Harley-riding, self-professed saviour, and a woman who makes him question his destiny. With an ancient evil ready to claim him, Vin has to work with a fallen angel not only to win his beloved over...but to redeem his very soul.
Unlike the BDB series, I wasn't crazy about this first book in the Fallen Angles series.
It started out very slow, so it took me a while to get into the story. The first 120 pages or so were dull to me, so I had to force myself to read. However it got better and drew me in, once the characters, the setting and the plot were all established. So keep at it because the story itself and main characters are really interesting. Just don't expect to read this book in one sitting, it would take you a while. And if you are expecting a love story with lots of romance, you might be disappointed.
I hope the next book in the series is better.
There is an excerpt in the back of the book from "Lover Mine" (The BDB series, Book 8).
Left me wanting more!!
FYI, there are deleted scenes on J.R. Ward's Fallen Angels website.
↓ It might spoil the fun of picking them out for yourself, but...
